Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (Level 4)

This programme is designed to equip participants with foundational knowledge, skills and competencies in the rapidly evolving area of AI. Participants will gain an understanding of AI concepts, practical applications and ethical considerations, and have opportunities to enhance their problem-solving abilities.

What to expect upon completion

On successful completion of the programme, you should be able to:

  • Discuss the evolution of AI, including key concepts, terminology, ethical use, societal impact, and real-world applications.

  • Explore how data can be collected and used in AI applications.

  • Identify and use a variety of AI applications to tackle real-world problems.

Enhancing Productivity with AI (Level 5)

This programme will demystify Generative AI (GenAI) and empower participants to confidently begin integrating tools and technologies into their professional environments. The programme seeks to bridge the gap between the theoretical knowledge of AI and its practical application, enabling participants to critically consider how to harness the potential of GenAI.

What to expect upon completion

On successful completion of the programme, you should be able to:

  • Explain the core principles of GenAI and its place within the broader context of Artificial Intelligence.

  • Demonstrate the ethical and legal use of GenAI tools to produce a range of content modes in a professional context.

  • Use prompt crafting skills to optimise the outputs of GenAI tools.

  • Evaluate suitable GenAI solutions in the context of their professional roles, reflecting on their use, impact, limitations, and ethical implications in various business contexts.

AI Strategic Planning and Legal Review (Level 6)

This programme has two micro-qualifications:

  • AI Legal and Ethical Considerations

  • Strategic Planning for AI

These micro-qualifications are designed to equip employees with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools required to support the responsible and strategic adoption of AI and GenAI in workplace and organisational contexts.

What to expect upon completion

On successful completion of the programme, you should be able to:

  • Investigate the capabilities, opportunities and risks of AI adoption in organisational contexts.

  • Examine the legal and governance obligations and ethical considerations of AI deployment under current EU legislation and Ireland’s regulatory framework.

  • Apply frameworks and risk mitigation strategies to support the responsible integration of AI, addressing challenges such as bias, data protection, accountability, transparency and intellectual property.

  • Formulate a strategic action plan for AI deployment that aligns with organisational goals, managing risk and innovation, ensuring effective governance, legal and ethical compliance, operational efficiency and workforce engagement.

  • Consider emerging AI trends and preparedness to meet compliance obligations while examining business opportunities presented by AI.
