SOLAS, the Further Education and Training Authority of Ireland, was established on 27 October 2013 and its mission is to fund, co-ordinate and monitor a range of Further Education and Training (FET) provisions that is responsive to the needs of learners and employers. It is an agency of the recently formed Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. SOLAS works in close collaboration with Education and Training Boards (ETBs) across Ireland on provision of high-quality further education and training, equipping learners with relevant skills and knowledge, and providing a pipeline of talent into employment and to the Irish economy and society.

Working with sister agencies, SOLAS leads actions in key policy and strategy documents including the most recent Further Education and Training (FET) Strategy 2020 – 2024, the evaluation of the National Youthreach Programmes (2019), the National Skills Strategy 2025 and the People Strategy 2020-2024 and others.
Applications are invited for the role of a Digital Marketing Apprentice (G11) – Branding and Communications who will report directly to the Grade 7 Communications Specialist in the Communications, Branding and Further Education and Training (FET) Strategy Implementation directorate. As part of the Communications and Branding team, the successful candidates will play a key role in the development and delivery of both internal and external branding and communications campaigns and activity for SOLAS and the wider FET Sector. This role will open up exciting opportunities for those who want to be involved in creating innovative and effective digital communications that reaches a diverse audience.
An apprenticeship is a full-time programme that combines work-based learning with a formal training programme. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work as a full-time member of staff with your employer, who will release you to attend the structured training programme with the training provider. This means that you will be employed, on a full-time basis, by SOLAS for the 2-year programme, offering you an opportunity to develop a career in digital marketing and earn while you learn from day one.
The successful candidate who completes all programme elements will attain an Advanced Certificate in Digital Marketing at Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ). The training partner for the programme is the Mayo Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board (ETB), with all classroom activities to be held in Dublin.
This is a temporary 2- year position for which the salary scale ranges from €31,105 to €48,429 per annum (inclusive of two long service increments) for a 35-hour week. Starting pay will be at the minimum point of the scale as per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current service in the Civil/Public service.
