SOLAS, the Further Education and Training Authority of Ireland, was established on 27 October 2013 and its mission is to fund, co-ordinate and monitor a range of Further Education and Training (FET) provisions that is responsive to the needs of learners and employers. It is an agency of the recently formed Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. SOLAS works in close collaboration with Education and Training Boards (ETBs) across Ireland on provision of high-quality further education and training, equipping learners with relevant skills and knowledge, and providing a pipeline of talent into employment and to the Irish economy and society.

We are seeking to recruit a Business Applications Manager for our Information Technology & Digital Department. Reporting directly to the Director of IT & Digital, the Business Applications Manager will have broad application development experience and a record of continuous improvement and innovation. The successful candidate must be flexible, positive, and enthusiastic and demonstrate an outstanding record of achievement in their career to date. They will have ownership of application development roadmaps and will define and lead development standards and methodology. They will also focus on achieving consistency and quality of SOLAS systems and data and will understand the strategic role of SOLAS within the development of national policy.

In special circumstances it may be possible that this role could be undertaken on a 4 day per week basis. It may be possible to be flexible re location e.g. requiring attendance at Castleforbes House, Dublin on a set number of days per week and others at home.

 This is a permanent position for which the salary scale ranges from €68,954 to €89,480 per annum (inclusive of two long service increments) for a 37-hour week.  Starting pay will be at the minimum point of the scale as per Government Circular E100/8/82.  Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current service in the Civil/Public service.
